TIMBER LIMITLESS

  • Description

Taylors of Harrogate

Work on the first construction phase of the new production facility for Taylors of Harrogate (English coffee and tea producer) began in summer 2018. The glued laminated timber components for the roof structure were pre-segmented in advance so that they could be easily transported. On arrival at the construction site, the individual segments were joined using the patented HESS LIMITLESS system to form single full-length elements. Due to the narrow access road, the pre-segmentation was a decisive success factor for this project.

The first phase of construction consisted of circa 300 m³ of glued laminated timber which once fully installed provided the structure for a self-contained production facility that would go live before the start of phase 2. At the end of August 2019, the second construction phase followed with a further 300 m³ of glued laminated timber. The services of HESS TIMBER included the structural analysis, the production as well as the delivery of components and the assembly as a complete package including cranes, lifting platforms and other equipment.
