TIMBER LIMITLESS
Cambridge Ice Arena
With an ice-rink 56 metres long and 26 metres wide, the new Cambridge Ice Arena meets the requirements of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The new Ice Arena on Newsmarket Road in Cambridge will not only be the new home of the Cambridge University Ice Hockey team, but will also be used by the public for ice skating. About 100,000 visitors are expected to visit the ice rink every year. The roof construction consists of up to 37 meter long glued laminated timber beams made of spruce (220 m³). In addition, some 220 m³ of HASSLACHER cross laminated timber were used in the project. HESS TIMBER was responsible for the planning, production, delivery and assembly of the timber components.
