Designed with sustainability in mind, the new headquarters for St.LukesHealth in Launceston, Tasmania, incorporates over 400 m³ of glulam. A key feature of the design within this 5,000 m² office development is the retention and integration of 19th-century warehouses, which structure the foyer and create a seamless connection to public spaces and the adjacent church grounds.
The contemporary tower, which rises above these historic warehouses, showcases modern timber technology while preserving elements of the past, such as the original timber trusses. This blend of old and new materials highlights the innovative approach to the building’s design, balancing heritage with modern architectural techniques.
