Peek & Cloppenburg Cologne

The glass dome façade of the "Weltstadthaus" by Peek & Cloppenburg in the city center of Cologne consists of approximately 7,000 individual pane elements. The underlying structure is made of 66 glued laminated timber beams (Siberian Lrach) with a maximum length of impressive 25 meters. The building itself covers 14,400 m² of retail space over a length of 130 meters and a width of 60 meters. The atrium offers an spectacular view over five floors. Back in 2004 HESS TIMBER was entrusted with the planning, production, delivery and installation of the glued laminated timber on site.
